Emily Samose is a proven social sector consultant and thought leader committed to advancing community-driven education initiatives. With more than 25 years as an experienced facilitator and relationship builder, Emily excels at developing cross-sector partnerships, creating engaging learning experiences, conducting applied research, and managing projects to cultivate a positive education ecosystem.

Emily Samose is an expert facilitator,

and trusted advisor.

Emily Samose established ECS Consulting after more than 25 years of experience leading education programs and partnerships in support of children, youth, and families. She works in the nonprofit, government, association, and philanthropic sectors and specializes in building strategic relationships to achieve success.

She is currently planning and facilitating a professional learning community with the National Summer Learning Association, where she designs and leads virtual and in-person learning experiences for public and affordable housing leaders. 

​

She has spent a decade with the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, where she designs virtual learning experiences on multiple topics related to early-school success and equitable learning recovery.

She recently led a Community of Practice for the William Penn Foundation, focused on engaging researchers and practitioners to evaluate and implement playful learning in Philadelphia.

Prior to launching her consulting career, Emily worked full time with the Urban Libraries Council leading national initiatives to advance public libraries as essential education institutions, including the production of reports on summer learning and family learning, among others. Prior to joining ULC, she spent seven years with the Corporation for National and Community Service (now called AmeriCorps) and more than ten years working in California in developing and executing service learning programs for universities and afterschool programs. ​Emily holds a Master’s degree in education from San Francisco State University and is a graduate of the Institute for Educational Leadership’s Education Policy Fellowship Program.
